OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH was founded in 1996 in Straubenhardt near Pforzheim in the Southern German state of Baden-Württemberg. Over the past 20 years, OTEC has grown from a small manufacturer of polishing machines for the local jewelry and watchmaking industry to become a truly global player. At the company’s head office in Germany, OTEC now employs about 120 members of staff at its administration, research and production facility covering some 8,000 square meters. A process of continuous development and a growing workforce have constantly expanded the areas of application for OTEC’s products and perfected the interplay of machine and process media to the benefit of thousands of satisfied customers and enabling OTEC to achieve a gross turnover of approx. € 24 million in the finanical year 2016. Furthermore, the smooth operation and long service life and high-quality workmanship which are the hallmarks of OTEC’s machines, all of which are made in Germany, are appreciated by countless customers worldwide when it comes to deburring, grinding, smoothing and polishing.
The tub vibrator is a new addition to the OTEC range. Compared with conventional vibrators, it has an especially powerful drive motor. This enables processing times to be reduced by up to 30%.
Processing is carried out in an open drum (the process container) with a base plate in the form of of turntable or disc. The workpieces, together with a suitable polishing or grinding granulate, are set in motion by the rotation of the disc to create a toroidal stream inside the stationary drum.…
SF technology, also known as stream finishing, gives rise to an innovative new generation of mass finishing machines. In this process, the workpieces are clamped in a holder and lowered into a rotating container filled with a grinding or polishing medium. The actual finishing motion is generated…
In the drag finishing process, the workpieces are clamped in specially designed holders. These holders are dragged in a circular motion through a process drum containing grinding or polishing granualate. This high-speed motion generates high contact pressure between the workpiece and the media,…
For a perfect finish, the right choice of mass finishing machine, abrasive media and finishing process are absolutely critical. The final result can depend on many different parameters, so expert advice should always be sought. The most important parameters are: Quality, shape and size of the…
With vibratory finishing, the subsequent separation of the workpieces from the grinding or polishing media is of great importance. The reliability of the process often depends on the know-how and machine technology a manufacturer has at its disposal. OTEC can offer you a great variety of…
Electropolishing is an electrochemical material removal process for metallic workpieces using an external source of electric current. It is used to polish, passivate and debur surfaces. During this process, material is removed from the workpiece (anode), which is immersed in an electrolyte…
